(expired)Wise Slashed to 7/4 For Toon Job

Following speculation that Kevin Keegan is no longer manager of Newcastle United, Sky Bet have opened betting on who will next take the reigns at St James’ Park and early favourite, executive director, Dennis Wise, has already come in for considerable support, leading Sky Bet to cut him from opening odds of 4/1 to 7/4. Alan Shearer is joint 8/1 second favourite together with Gerard Houllier.

Keegan was well supported in the Premier League sack race market at 7/1 yesterday and after a gamble this morning, Sky Bet slashed his odds from 6/4 to 1/3 before shutting the book.

Sky Bet’s PR director, Dale Tempest said: “The rumour mill in the north east is working overtime and the money has followed accordingly. The transfer deadline was simply a disaster for Newcastle, with no significant purchases, and we wait to see what Keegan’s response is.”Sky Bet Odds: Next Permanent Newcastle Manger
