FANCY A GUINEAS DOUBLE THAT PAYS OVER 20/1?
New Approach is a red-hot 6/4 favourite with bet365 for Saturday’s 2000 Guineas, but the picture for Sunday’s 1000 Guineas is more cloudy with three fillies, Infallible, Natagora and Muthabara, all vying for favouritism.
New Approach has been all the rage for the 2000 Guineas over the winter, but he’s yet to prove that he’s trained on and, besides, favourites don’t have a great record in the race. Instead, we’re pinning our colours to the mast of Ravens Pass (4/1), who ran a cracker when just touched off in the Craven Stakes last month.
A large field is on the cards for the 1000 Guineas, but we’ve narrowed it down to the front three in the betting, with preference for Natagora (10/3). She has speed as well as stamina and achieved a good deal more in France than her market rivals managed in their trials.
A double on Ravens Pass and Natagara at the current bet365 odds of 4/1 and 10/3 respectively pays £216.67 for a £10 stake.

As for a tip, bet365 have see plenty of money for Cloudy Lane, trained by Donald McCain, whose father Ginger won the race four times (he should have learnt a few tricks then!), and he is now 6/1 favourite. Irish-trained horses have won six of the last nine renewals, which means we should give Snowy Morning (12/1), Slim Pickings (12/1) and Point Barrow (14/1) plenty of respect. Over The Creek stays all day so is a lively outsider at 25/1.
Bet365 are now ‘non-runner no bet’ on all races at the Cheltenham Festival, which means that you can get stuck into their ante post markets with the safety net of knowing that if you back a non-runner you will get your money back.
“This is the fourth consecutive year we have been the first company to offer this concession. We have lost on all three previous years, but hope for a different outcome this time”, said bet365 spokesman Pat Cooney
And with 15 Festival races already priced up at bet365, there’s plenty of scope to snap up some big odds on your fancies now, and then be in a healthy position on the day of the race.
The Irish look to have a strong hand in the Champion Hurdle with Sizing Europe and Sublimity first and second in the betting at 9/4 and 7/2 respectively. The home challenge is led by Osana at 5/1, but Straw Bear could be a lively outsider at 20/1!
The race of the meeting is undoubtedly the Gold Cup, which features a mouth-watering clash between reigning champ Kauto Star - bet365’s even money favourite - and new kid on the block Denman at 11/8. Where’s your money going?
This weekend sees the start of the 2008 Six Nations, with bet365 making France the pre-tournament favourites at 6/4, closely followed by England at 13/8. In addition to the usual match betting, handicap betting and match markets, bet365 will be offering prices on which team will win the Grand Slam, Triple Crown or Wooden Spoon. Your involvement doesn’t have to end when the match starts; you can bet In-Play on every Six Nations match live at bet365.
There’s a very special promotion on the 3-way handicap market for every match throughout the tournament. At bet365, from the Friday before each round of matches, we will be offering even money about both teams and 16/1 for the tie. Be sure to take advantage of the added value!
England entertain a Wales side that boasts thirteen Ospreys players in the starting line-up. The 2007 World Cup finalists will be keen to continue the form that they showed in France last autumn and are EVENS (-13) at bet365 to cover the handicap. Likewise, Wales are EVENS (+13) to either win, draw or lose the match by no more than twelve points.
With Jonny Wilkinson in the side, there is a good chance that the first scoring play at Twickenham will come from an England penalty at 11/8. Recent Rugby League convert Lesley Vainikolo has to settle for a place on the bench in the opener but will be hoping to make a big impact as the tournament progresses. bet365 price him at 14/1 to finish the tournament as top tryscorer and a massive 50/1 to score a try in all five Six Nations matches.
