(expired)Midweek Betting Preview 19 Nov

In preparation for the World Cup Qualifiers in the early months of 2009, this week the home nations are involved in a round of international friendlies. England meet old rivals Germany on Wednesday night, while on the same night Wales travel to Denmark. The other home nations are all at home, as Northern Ireland take on Hungary, Scotland face Argentina and the Republic of Ireland welcome Poland on a busy night of international football.

Midweek Football

Germany v England, Wednesday, ITV 1, 8:00pm

Fabio Cappello takes his team to the Olympiastadion in Berlin to take on Germany for the first time as England coach. However he will be without a host of big name stars, as Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard have joined Wayne Rooney, Joe Cole and Rio Ferdinand on the injury table. Michael Ballack will be missing from the German line up due to injury, although Torsten Frings is missing due to a disagreement with coach Joachim Low rather than any injury or loss of form. Despite the absentees, this should be a great game between two of world footballs biggest rivals, as Germany look for revenge for England’s 5-1 thrashing of them in Berlin in 2001.Germany are 11/10 with Pagebet to gain revenge for England’s famous 5-1 win, while England are 12/5 with VCbet to beat one of their biggest rivals.

If Theo Walcott scores at anytime during Germany v England, BGbet will refund all losing first goalscorer stakes on the match.¹

If Germany v England finishes 0-0 BGbet will refund all losing correct score bets on that game.¹

Denmark v Wales, Wednesday, BBC 2 Wales, 7:15pm

Wales travel to the Parken Stadion in Indre Østerbro in Denmark looking for a morale boosting performance. They were beaten 1-0 by Germany in their last World Cup qualifying game, and manager John Toshack may use this game to blood some of Wales’s exciting young players, especially as they have also been hit by injuries. Arsenal forward Aaron Ramsey is the most promising of Wales’s crop of young blood, and he will look to play some part in the game following Jason Koumas and Simon Davies withdrawal from the squad.

Denmark are big favourites at 1/2 with Centrebet, while Wales’s young side are the 5/1 outsiders with BGbet.

If Sam Vokes scores at anytime during Denmark v Wales, BGbet will refund all losing first goalscorer stakes on the match.¹

Northern Ireland v Hungary, Wednesday, Sky Sports 3, 7:45pm

Northern Ireland welcome Hungary to Windsor Park fresh on the back of their first win in their World Cup qualifying campaign. They beat San Marino 4-0 back in October, and currently sit above the Czech Republic in Group 3, but in fourth overall. They will need to produce a brilliant run of form to qualify for the finals in South Africa, and will look to use this game as a springboard for confidence going into the next round of qualifiers next year.

Northern Ireland are 6/5 with Pagebet, while Hungary are 21/10 with Centrebet.

If Warren Feeney scores at anytime during Northern Ireland v Hungary, BGbet will refund all losing first goalscorer stakes on the match.¹

Scotland v Argentina, Wednesday, Sky Sports 1, 8:00pm

Scotland are the first side to face an Argentinean side managed by former Argentine legend Diego Maradonna, as they travel to Hampden Park on Wednesday night. It was on the same ground in 1979 that Maradonna scored the first of his international goals, and Scotland manager George Burley will hope to deal with him better than he did that night. Burley was in the Scotland defence 29 years ago as the Scots lost 3-1 to a Maradonna inspired side, but he will have to overcome the withdrawals of keeper Craig Gordon, influential midfielder Darren Fletcher, and striker Kenny Miller as he looks to gain revenge for that night.

Scotland are the 4/1 underdogs with BGbet, while Argentina are 8/13 with VCbet to start Maradonna’s reign with a victory.

If Chris Iwelumo scores at anytime during Scotland v Argentina, BGbet will refund all losing first goalscorer stakes on the match.¹

Republic of Ireland v Poland, Wednesday, Sky Sports 2, 7:45pm

Giovanni Trappatoni continues his impressive start as the Republic of Ireland boss when his side takes on Poland at Croke Park in Dublin on Wednesday. They currently sit second in Group 8 of the World Cup qualifiers, only three points behind leaders Italy, and with a game in hand over their coach’s home nation. However, they too have been badly hit through withdrawals, as influential forwards Robbie Keane and Aiden McGeady withdrew following injuries in their weekend club games. Reading’s Noel Hunt has been drafted in as a replacement and will hope to be part of an Irish side that continues its great run of form.

The Republic of Ireland are the Evens favourites with Pagebet, while Poland are the 11/5 outsiders with VCbet to.

If Anthony Stokes scores at anytime during Republic of Ireland v Poland, BGbet will refund all losing first goalscorer stakes on the match.¹

Place a correct score bet on any of the above listed matches this week, and if it gets beat by an injury time goal BGbet will refund all losing correct score stakes on that match.¹
