Sky Bet have cut the odds of Jermaine Jenas signing for Stoke City to evens (from 3/1) following the news that the Potters are lining up a £7 million move for the Tottenham midfielder. The 27-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular place in Tottenham’s first team so it’s understood that the former Newcastle player could be on his way to the Britannia Stadium.
In other transfer news, Manchester City’s Robinho is now 1/6 (from 2/5) to sign for AC Milan after reports that the Brazilian is in Italy to try and finalise a deal.
Another player that could be on his way out of Eastlands is Paraguayan striker Roque Santa Cruz. The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to both Liverpool (3/1) and Fulham (3/1) but Sky Bet make Lazio (4/6) the most likely destination.
Sky Bet’s Tim Reynolds said: “It’s going to be interesting to see how today unfolds. We’ve seen some support this morning for Jenas to move to the Britannia Stadium and with the 27-year-old not likely to make Harry Redknapp’s 25-man squad, it looks likely that the move will go ahead.” (more…)
Sky Bet make Robinho’s odds of signing for Santos permanently 2/1 following his six-month loan deal back to his homeland.
The 26-year-old former Man City striker is 4/11 not to be sold back to his first club by the end of next year’s January transfer window.
Sky Bet’s football betting spokeswoman Helen Jacob said: “Santos are unlikely to be able to afford to extend Robinho’s contract and City will be hoping either he returns to Eastlands rejuvenated or that his stock will rise after the World Cup so they can recoup some of his record signing fee with a good sale elsewhere.”
Robinho is due to make his debut in Sunday’s derby with São Paulo and Sky Bet make him 7/4 to score, 10/1 for a brace and 40/1 to score a hat-trick. (more…)
