Tiger Woods’ former mistress Rachael Uchitel is allegedly eager to become his official new birdie now that the famous swinger is back on the market.
Irish bookmaker Paddy Power make the VIP hostess their 5/1 favourite to date the World No.1 next following his $500million split with wife Elin Nordegren.
Other birdies on the bookies list include thrill seeker and movie star Cameron Diaz at 8/1, curvy Kelly Brook at 12/1 and US reality TV babe Kim Kardashian at 20/1. It’s 10/1 odds that Tiger reconciles with his Swedish model ex-wife Elin.
Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power, explained: “Tiger is the highest paid professional athlete in the world. Couple that with the fact that his divorce has been finalised, and he’s on the prowl again for a new birdie, and that makes him the most eligible bachelor in the world!” (more…)
Paddy Power is refunding bets on Dustin Johnson after the unlucky American was cruelly robbed in the USPGA.
The two shot penalty for grounding his club in a so-called bunker was judged to be breaking the rules but Paddy Power have taken a different view and are refunding all win bets and the win part of each way bets on the American.
Paddy Power himself said: “Dustin may have to live with the fact rules have robbed him of a chance of winning a major but we don’t have to live with such strait-jacketed nonsense. Any Johnson bets with Paddy Power haven’t bitten the Dust on this occasion so its money back.”
Paddy Power plc today announced the appointment of Paddy the Psychic Octopus to their senior management team.
Paddy is a first cousin of Paul Oktopus who recently shot to international fame when he correctly predicted all of Germany’s World Cup results. Paddy will be responsible for predicting the outcome of major sporting events for the bookmaking chain from his office at the National Sea Life Centre in Bray, Co Wicklow.
Paddy is expected to arrive in Ireland before the end of July and will undergo a period of “psychic tuning” before being beginning his role with Paddy Power. It is hoped that Paddy’s first predictions will be around the forthcoming GAA All Ireland Finals and Ryder Cup.
Pat Ó Súilleabháin, director of the National Sea Life Centre in Bray said “We’ve had our eye on Paddy for some time now and we’re delighted that he’ll soon be joining us in Bray. As a full cousin to Paul he has already exhibited an exciting degree of psychic awareness and we’re confident that we can develop his ability to a level similar, of perhaps even greater, than his cousin”
Paddy Power said “Paul the Psychic Octopus cost us a king’s ransom during the World Cup so it really was a no-brainer to get Paddy on the payroll”
To celebrate Paddy’s imminent arrival, top tailor Louis Copeland created a one-off 8-tentacled sweater for Paddy the octopus who is used to the warmer waters of his native Mediterranean.
Louis Copeland said “I’ve fitted out everyone from Bill Clinton and Pierce Brosnan to Ronan Keating and Bertie Ahern but Paddy the Psychic Octopus is the icing on the cake. The eight tentacled design presented a unique challenge but I’m very happy with the final product”
Paddy the Psychic Octopus will be on public display in the National Sea Life Centre in Bray, Co Dublin from September and his sports predictions will be webcast live from the Paddy Power website.
Following news that Lorena Ochoa has retired from golf, Sky Bet are offering odds on who will replace the world number one at the top of the women’s rankings this year.
The 28-year-old Mexican has dominated the LPGA for the last three years winning 27 titles and Sky Bet make South Korea’s Jiyai Shin favourite to succeed her. The 2009 LPGA Rookie of the Year is 7/4 to finish 2010 in the top spot.
Taiwan’s Yani Tseng, who won her second major in the Kraft Nabisco Championships earlier this month, is Sky Bet’s 2/1 second favourite to be top of the official rankings on December 31, while Norway’s Suzann Pettersen is the leading European contender at 9/2.
Sky Bet’s golf betting spokesman John Rhodes said: “This has come as a something of a shock and Ochoa will be sadly missed by all in the game of golf. Her retirement leaves the way open for a host of players to claim the world number one spot. Europe’s best hope lies with Norwegian Suzann Pettersen, who is currently third in the rankings behind Shin and Tseng.” (more…)
Welshman Rhys Davies won his first European Tour title at the weekend with a brilliant display in Morocco shooting a combined total of 25 under par. Davies, who came from three strokes behind to win comfortably, is 8/1 to be named in Colin Montgomerie’s Ryder Cup team.
Davies’ 25 under par is the lowest scorecard yet to be recorded on the European Tour this year and it’s 8/11 that the Bridgend golfer’s winning score in the Hassan Trophy goes on to be the lowest total on the European Tour. It’s 9/4 that Davies goes on to win two or more events on the European Tour this year and 40/1 that he lands his homeland competition the Welsh Open.
Sky Bet’s golf betting expert John Rhodes said: “Davies is renowned for being one of, if not the best putter on the tour and the future looks very rosy for the Welshman. He’s 9/4 to win another event this year, which could represent some decent value.” (more…)
Following recent international media coverage of Paddy Power’s negotiations with IMG to sponsor Tiger Woods, the company confirms that its initial offer covering a five year period for a total potential sponsorship of $75 million has been rejected by IMG. Paddy Power remains keen to work with Tiger Woods, and will re-engage with IMG. An enhanced offer will be made, the details of which will remain confidential.
Teenage golf sensation Matteo Manassero has confirmed that he will turn professional in May and Sky Bet have produced a number of specials bets on how the young Italian will fare in 2010.
Manassero will become the youngest ever player in the Masters next month and is 200/1 to land the green jacket, and more realistically 11/4 to make the 36-hole cut (1/4 to miss the cut).
He will make his professional debut at the Italian Open in Turin on May 6-9 and is a 40/1 chance to land his national championship, backed by a partisan crowd.
8/1 is on offer for Manassero to win on the European Tour this year and he is 33/1 to win the Open while still a teenager.
Sky Bet’s golf betting spokesman John Rhodes said: “Matteo rose to prominence last year by becoming the youngest ever player to win the British Amateur title and then remarkably finished 13th in the Open itself. We knew he would be a superstar in the making, and his results prove that already. He boasts six professional events and four top-30 finishes at just 16-years-old, when most of his peers are sat at home doing their homework!” (more…)
After incredible back-to-back wins on the LPGA Tour, Sky Bet have installed Ai Miyazato as the new 5/2 favourite to claim the 2010 Money List.
The diminutive Japanese star looks likely to beat last year’s third position when she finished behind Jiyai Shin and Lorena Ochoa, who are 5/1 and 6/1 respectively in the 2010 Money List betting.
Miyazato looks set for a remarkable 2010 and Sky Bet make her a 4/1 chance to win a major this year and 12/1 to win six or more official LPGA Events in 2010.
Sky Bet’s golf betting spokesman John Rhodes said: “With Ai starting the season so well, and now with the monkey off her back of being the perennial bridesmaid in big events, the 2010 Money List title looks well within her grasp. World Number one Lorena Ochoa hasn’t dominated the tour like she did in 2008, and this year’s tour looks far more competitive than in past seasons.” (more…)
Ahead of the opening event of golf’s PGA Tour season the SBS Championship, Sky Bet are offering a new and exclusive market on which player will hit the most greens in regulation in the 1st round from the selected 2-balls. Dustin Johnson, who hit 66.07 greens in regulation in 2009, is 6/5 to record more G.I.R than his 2-ball pairing of Nick Watney, who averaged 66.09 in 2009 (6/5 Johnson & 9/2 Tie).
Kenny Perry is evens to hit more greens in regulations than Heath Slocum (11/8 & 9/2 Tie) and Zach Johnson, who averaged 67.81 G.I.R in 2009, is 23/20 to hit the most greens in regulation over his 1st round playing partner Sean O’Hair (23/20 & 9/2 Tie).
Sky Bet’s golf betting expert John Rhodes said: “The introduction of the 18 hole greens in regulation matches this year will hopefully see Sky Bet rise to a new level in golf betting. It’s a different and unusual angle for punters to bet on, but with all the stats there for everyone to see, hopefully this new bet can take off. Sky Bet will be issuing these odds for selected 2 balls on both the Euro and PGA Tours.” (more…)
