If it’s monkey’s you want to see then forget Dublin zoo. All the monkey’s you could possibly want are on TV3 on Monday night.
The latest series of The Apprentice kicked off last night and while there are plenty of feisty characters and strong personalities on the show, it remains to be seen whether any of the remaining fifteen contestants actually have any talent or business skills!
Bill Cullen was less than impressed with his potential new employees after a poor first task but even if Bill doesn’t find a good business mind one thing looks guaranteed for the new show – huge success!
Paddy Power have already made TV3’s The Apprentice their 1/5 red hot favourite to once again win Best Entertainment Show at next year’s IFTA Awards.
As for whether or not love will blossom on this year’s show, Paddy Power are quoting 7/4 that two of this year’s contestants will confirm they’re in a relationship while it’s just 3/1 that there’ll be an Apprentice wedding by the end of 2012!
Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power, said: “Monday night’s debut lived up to all expectations and this year’s Apprentice looks, dare we say it, even more entertaining than last years! At the rate it’s going Bill Cullen and co could pick up Best Comedy Show as well as Best Entertainment Show at next years IFTA’S!” (more…)
Geordie genii Ant and Dec are the bookies red-hot favourites to win their ninth consecutive award for Best TV presenters at the National TV Awards on 20 January.
Bookies Paddy Power make the nations favourite hosts just 1/4 to bag the award while their popular show ‘The Saturday Night Takeaway’ is also short odds at 11/10 to beat The Paul O’Grady Show, Big Brother and Ant and Dec’s other TV gem ‘I’m A Celebrity’ to the accolade.
In other categories, David Tenant looks set to take the gong for Best Drama Performance for his role as the Doctor while ‘Doctor Who’ itself is 1/3 to win Best Drama. EastEnders Lacey Turner is the 5/4 tip to walk away with the Best Serial Drama Performance for her challenging role as Stacey Slater while EastEnders is 4/6 to beat rivals Corrie and Emmerdale in the Best Serial Drama category.
The most hotly contested category looks to be in the Best Talent Show where both Simon Cowell’s X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent will battle it out with Strictly Come Dancing to be crowned King.
Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power said: “These really are the awards that matter as they’re completely voted for by the public. It will be a case of déjà vu for Ant and Dec who are heading for their ninth win but the other categories could still throw up a few surprises!” (more…)
Yasmina Siadatan might have beat Kate Walsh to the post to become Sir Alan Sugar’s new Apprentice but lovely Kate is the bookies red-hot favourite to win another race. Bookmaker Paddy Power is betting 4/1 that love birds Kate and Phil will become the first Apprentice couple to get married.
Sir Alan himself set tongues wagging on the spin off show ‘You’re Hired’ when he suggested marriage or a baby could be on the cards for the loved up pair. It’s just 3/1 that Kate and Phil have a baby before the end of 2010 with Paddy Power going one step further and quoting 25/1 that they name the little nipper Alan or Alannah after Sir Alan.
With The Apprentice now airing in Ireland as well as the US and the UK, the cheeky bookmaker has opened betting on which one will produce the first white wedding. The Apprentice UK is the bookies 6/5 favourite followed by The Apprentice Ireland at 15/8 and The Apprentice US at 9/4. (more…)

As the show is pre-recorded you cannot bet directly on Ben Clarke to win. However, there are some great Apprentice 2009 markets available that you can bet on!
Sir Alan Sugar’s Apprentice’s go to work tomorrow night and, just for fun, bookie Paddy Power has compiled what they think the betting might have been if the show wasn’t pre-recorded.
The ‘would be’ list sees Belfast born stockbroker Ben Clarke top of the list at 4/1. At just 22 years of age Ben appears ruthless and obsessed with money, even claiming money is better than sex! But will his lack of experience expose him as a boy in a man’s world with the usual Achilles heel of many Apprentices – style over substance?
28 year old former Tanzanian beauty queen Mona Lewis is tipped at 6/1 to go the distance. Her apparently hard working and honest nature is likely to appeal to Sir Alan if she can cope under the pressure.
Darren Haines, spokesman for Paddy Power, said: “Bookies can’t offer betting on The Apprentice as it is all pre-recorded. But just for a bit of fun this is what we would have bet had it been in real-time and Ben may fit the mould of previous winners that Sir Alan prefers.”
However Paddy Power has offered some markets on the series that can be bet on including 13/8 that the eventual winner won’t still be under Sir Alan’s employment in 12 months time and 1000/1 that this year’s winner proves what lack of financial acumen currently resides at the Exchequer by becoming the next Chancellor.
Specials To Bet On
13/8 Winner to be fired by Sugar within a year
3/1 This to be last series due to the credit crunch
1000/1 The winner to become the Next Chancellor of the Exchequer
